Splendid Hotel in Phitsanulok, "Dragon River Avenue"
Our road trip from Chiangrai to Phitsanulok.
Phitsanulok, Muang Song Khwae boasts the lazy "Nan river" a perfect locale to witness beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
We chose to stay at the "Dragon River Avenue" located in the heart of Phitsanulok city. The Hotel has an amazing Nan river view.
We stayed at Dragon Elite suite room 4,500 THB. This room is huge and has a fantastic river view and it's own indoor Jacuzzi whirlpool and separate bathroom. A big comfortable bedroom & living room area. The big balcony with a river view is ready for you to sit and chill.
If you don't need all those perks, the Dragon Studio room at 3,500 THB also has a comfy bedroom with clean bathroom and separate living room area.
We decided to have dinner after a long 5 hour drive. The Dragon River Avenue has a delicious Thai fusion menu with a great selection and an interesting menu!
We sat outdoors with an amazing Nan river view! You can also see Chan Palace just opposite of the restaurant.
For the food we had...
- Salmon with basil sauce
- Instant noodles stir fry with pork spare ribs "wai wai zapp hang"
- Tom yum fish
- Deep fried vegetable with seafood spicy and sour salad dressing
- Red curry with grill fish and mushroom
- Roasted pork
- Pork knuckle - Pork stir fry with garlic
Everything we had was delicious and we really enjoyed the food along with the great view and nice live music. (Budget around 3,000 thb for 5 persons)
After dinner we went back to the Dragon elite room suite, sat at the big balcony and sipped a glass of beer with friends. What a lovely evening!
For Breakfast, Dragon River Avenue serves several kinds of Thai food, fruits, and coffee.
Babe, love chicken curry, minced pork stir fry with basil, Instant noodles stir fry with egg and vegetables, Pork ball boiled rice...
Before, We check out we decided to have some coffee at "Dragon brasserie" they got a fresh coffee beans from "Doi Chang" / Ice cocoa, Ice Cappuccino, Hot americano is good!
After check out, We visited two temples during our trip at Phitsanulok : "Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Worra Maha Wi Harn Phitsanulok" A beautiful Royal temple with the lord Buddha inside a temple
and another temple is "Wat rajburana Phitsanulok" this temple is over 1,000 years old!
Another place you can go to make merit and respect while here.
Visit Phitsanulok province another charming province with many Thailand history, Many antique object. and local food you should try!
So now it's time to drive back over 5 hours to Bangkok! See you next trip! Cheers!
