Intrepid food critic and traveler Babe journeys outside of bustling Bangkok to give you a review of the beautiful and tranquil Rayong Marriott Resort & Spa in the seaside town of Rayong, Thailand.
Rayong is an eastern Thai province on the Gulf of Thailand, known for its national parks and beaches. On its south coast, the beach at Ban Phe is home to a fishing community and is the gateway to Koh Samet island, part of the Khao Laem Ya - Mu Ko Samet National Park. To the west, the long, flat Mae Ram Phueng beach offers panoramic views. Farther east, Laem Mae Phim beach has small waves and beachside restaurants. Rayong is only a easy 3 hour drive from Bangkok and is jumping off point for the popular Samet island a long standing favorite weekend getaway spot for Bangkokians.

This was Babe’s first visit to the Rayong Marriott Resort and Spa in quite a while but she says it is just as beautiful as it was the first visit. Babe stayed in a Studio Corner Suite Room 423, starts at 7,200 baht/ night (US$216) during her January 2018 visit. The room is a massive 77 sq/m and features clear views of the Gulf of Thailand via the floor to ceiling windows and the big balcony.
